Purpose: In NOX, we only write what's true. Threshold-based development begins not with planning, but with recognition: a moment of truth, captured in structure. This means we start with the date and the author. Then we answer what we know next: the context and purpose of the document.
Users tend to orient in one of two ways:
NOX honors both. The threshold is the first thing you know. That becomes the seed for momentum. A basic NOX header, for example, captures time and authorship:
date_created: "2025-07-09"
author: Alex Catalano
From here, the question "what" gets answered in two parts: the title
and the doctype
, forming a full header like:
title: "NOX: Threshold-Based Development"
date_created: "2025-07-09"
author: Alex Catalano
doctype: stub overview
Status: This concept is under development. It will expand into a full guide as part of NOX 2.0.
